The Tumbes Swallow was formerly considered a subspecies of the Mangrove Swallow (Tachycineta albilinea). It’s range is restricted to a small area in coastal Peru, but very little is known of its ecology and life-history characteristics. (See Robbins, M.B., G.H. Rosenberg, F.S.
